The SIRE
Whittington is by Tale of The Cat, a son of the dominant and internationally acclaimed source of speed in Storm Cat.
As a racehorse Whittington was trained by Gai Waterhouse, winning 4 races, two at 2 years including the time honoured the Listed Breeder’s Plate over 1000m at Royal Randwick. Being the first 2yo race of the Spring and has been won recently by the likes of Capitalist, Vancouver, Pierro, Sebring (all went onto win the Golden Slipper), as well as Smart Missile, Snitzel, Charge Forward and Choisir. At 3 he won the Magic Millions Sprint against older horses over 1100m and smashed the Gold Coast track record. At 4 he won another stakes race, the Listed BRC Lightening Hcp over 1050m.
In his first season with runners he finished a very credible 5th nationally by the number of winners ahead of many better and more expensive stallions. His oldest progeny are 3 year olds of 2019/20.

The DAM
Chilly Ruler is by the Danehill stallion King of Danes, who was a fast and successful racehorse in Hong Kong. She won 4 races from 900m to 1200m including 1 at 2 years over 900m, she was also metro placed.

The family has some strength with the 2nd dam Storminwinter by Triple Crown winner and super sire in Seattle Slew. She is also a full sister to U.S Gr2 winner and good sire Williamstown. Storminwinter is the dam of 6 winners from 7 to race including duel Gr2 winning sprinter California Dane (6 wins & $371 337), stakes placed Brooklyn Storm (5 wins & $197 298), California Choice (4 wins & $317 316 in HK), California Storm (4 wins & $135 970).
Champion NZ 2yo and Gr1 winner Warhorse appears under the 2nd dam as well. The whole female family is all about speed, with all horses race successes over sprint distances.
