JTR Farm

JTR Colours LR.jpg

JTR Farm is not only used for spelling and after sales management for horses but also for a small select breeding program.

JTR Farm offers spelling and pre-training to clients. Rod also has a new 4 horse float for transportation to the farm, to your stables and races.

Jazzland is the first horse bred by Rod Scott and reared at JTR Farm, he is by Home on the Grange out of Dix. The mare was purchased online (not in foal) after considerable research and background checks. At the time she had two foals both unnamed/unraced under the previous owner. The mare was bought specifically to be bred to Home on the Grange (by Danehill) noting that Dix (by Strategic), the second dam Huit (by Octagonal/Sir Tristram sireline) and the third dam Seika (by Canny Lad) had all combined successfully with the Danehill/Danzig sireline.

Today, Dix has had three named foals and they have all won, including Dixie Lad who has had 8 wins and a total of ($144,845) in prize money. Her second foal Jar of Hearts has won a total of $117,230 in prize money with 4 wins. Her third foal was Jazzland, he had one run as a late season three year old purely as an educational run over the unsuitable distance of 1200m. Then resuming over 1500m at Muswellbrook he ran a fast-finishing second and would have won in other 50m. However, the race has been awarded to him after the winner was disqualified due to a positive swab. Second up he hit the front about 150m out over a much more suitable distance of 1880m but had no answer for the fast-finishing Scarlet Dream who's trainer Mark Newnham announced shortly after had stakes class aspirations for her in the Autumn. Jazzland then ventured to Wyong over 2100m and went straight to front to control the race. In the words of the race caller, "Jazzland was in one race and the others were in a different postcode." He romped in by nearly 9 lengths and eased up the last 50m in a Class 1 & Maiden grade. Two weeks later, he was up in weight over the same track and distance and won again by 2 lengths.
